COVID-19 Protocol Changes At Lakeside Veterinary Services

We have taken proactive steps to keep our team, clients, and patients safe and healthy. We feel a duty to ensure that our community is protected and our clients feel safe when a visit to our practice is indicated. Our team continues to work diligently to ensure our policies keep you, your families, and our team members as healthy and safe as possible. Please call 607-535-2500 before visiting to know what to expect regarding our new protocols and how they will affect your visit. Because of the extended condition of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are still meeting clients in our parking area in front of the Veterinary Clinic. Call when you arrive and please be patient with our staff, as they are working extra hard to meet the needs of our clients and patients. And as usual, masks are required when meeting with our doctors, technicians and receptionists. Thank you for understanding the precautions needed to keep our community safe and healthy.

  • Dr.
    Martha Hawksworth

A 2006 graduate of Iowa State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Martha Hawksworth's quick-thinking and superior medical skills made her the perfect candidate for emergency and conventional veterinary medicine. She went on to practice at a mixed animal practice in Virginia, before returning to complete an internship in emergency medicine in Chicago. After leaving the Windy City, Dr. Hawksworth moved east to become the Medical Director of a small animal hospital in Westfield, Massachusetts. She returned home to Watkins Glen in November 2010 with the goal of opening up her own animal hospital. Her interests in veterinary medicine include internal medicine, emergency medicine, public health, and global veterinary medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Hawksworth enjoys hiking with her two Australian Cattle dogs, spending time with her husband, Paul Bartow, running, and riding her horse.

  • Dr.
    Collin Cary

On January 5th, 2021 Dr. Collin Cary will join Lakeside Veterinary Services. Dr. Collin Cary is a native of the Southern Tier region of New York State. He has been practicing companion animal medicine in Upstate NY since his graduation from Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Dr. Collin has a passion for nutrition and preventive care for dogs, cats and exotic pets. He believes these two aspects of animal care help all pets stay where they prefer to be – at home with their families.

While at Cornell, Dr. Collin had the opportunity to work with the oldest colony of Naked Mole Rats in the United States. As more than one person has told him, “They are so ugly that they are cute”.            Dr. Collin has a genuine compassion for all companion animals, with or without hair. While caring for dogs and cats, he continued to work with Cornell’s exotic pet services to provide local care for reptiles, birds, pocket pets and rabbits. One of his favorites is a 30-pound tortoise! When not providing care for our community of pets, Dr. Collin enjoys spending time in the garden with his wife, toddler and dog. Current homegrown family food favorites include orange beets, purple cabbage soufflé and curried pumpkin.
